I would like to take this time to officially announce Game #111 that will be played on The Gaming Beatdown. Starting September 30th, 2016, it is Recore. This is the first game of Season #6 of Lets Play Nights. It is also the first game of The Empty Wallet-athon' 16/17. It is also the first game in the Recore Franchise to be played on the channel.
Lets Play Nights are BACK!!! After being gone for about six weeks. We return with a brand new season, and a brand new playthrough. It is also the start of our yearly Empty Wallet-athon were all I do is play new video game releases that are released during the months of September to December. Keep in mind that not every game released will be played, (ex. Mafia III or Gears of War 4) just because I have yet to touch any of those franchises on the channel as of yet, and they are very story heavy on their previous games. However their will be games in franchises that I have not played that that will be making their debut on the channel, due to not story driven for past games. This years will be bigger compared to last years and should be pretty stacked.
So our first game of the marathon is Recore. A new IP for Microsoft released on both the Xbox One and Windows 10. This is also the only Microsoft exclusive that will be played on the channel as well. This game is created by Kenji Inafune who is the creator of the Mega-Man franchise, and his studio Comcept. It is also be helped co-developed by Armature Studios who are a team who were originally part of Retro Studios, who created the Metroid Prime Games. Looking into that is really exciting and has a lot of potential to be a pretty fun little game. Plus for the game only being $40 its quite a good deal.
The game is a 3rd Person Open World Platformer Shooter game, with some RPG elements added into it. It's like a Hybrid Mega-Man & Metroid game. Now I have never played any of those games on the channel, and have never played the Prime games. But this game sounded super fun and had a very interesting idea especially when it was revealed back at E3 2015 during Microsoft's Conference. I was pretty much sold on it the day it got announced. Then seeing the game at E3 2016, I was all over it. I needed to play this game because of its gameplay.
The games story is about a girl named Joule who is the last human remaining in a world called Far Eden, a sandy apocalyptic wasteland in the future, that is now controlled by Corebots. She is accompanied in her travels by other Corebots to help her progress through the world of Far Eden, as she searches for answers on why the world has become the way it has.
So with that guys, Recore is Game #111, begins on Friday September 30th, 2016 only on The Gaming Beatdown. If you missed the announcement trailer for this playthrough you can find it available down below.
