I would like to take this time to officially announce Game #64 that will be played on The Gaming Beatdown. Starting August 1st, 2014 it will be The Last of Us. This will be the first game in the The Last of Us series that I will be casting on the channel, also marks the first Naughty Dog game to be played as an official playthrough.
Well here it is, the big one. The game I have been saving to be played for this years Summer Games of 2014. That being The Last of Us. What can be said about this game that hasn't already been by critics and other gamers alike. But this game has been said to be a materpiece. Like this is Naughty Dog's magnan opus. This game has won and been nominated for hundreds of Game of the Year awards for 2013, and it could win it again with its re-release remastered version which was just released on Tuesday, which if you are asking will be the version I will be playing. If you think about it this game is almost like a Hollywood Blockbuster, and it fits to be played in this time of the year.
I remember the day this game was announced as well. I was watching the VGA's in 2011. That night had many teasers for upcoming games. But this was the one that got me pretty interested. At one point, this was the game that wanted me to get a PS3 after seeing the first teaser. The next year at e3 Sony showed an impressive demo of the game that got my excitement even more. A year later the game gets released, and I didn't have a PS3 so I missed out on the hype that was The Last of Us. I got told by many people that this game is unbelievable to yeah its alright. Post release gameplay I can agree it kinda looks like a pretty generic 3rd Person survival horror. But I can't really judge since I have yet to play it. Either way I still was pretty excited to play the game, even though it took awhile to happen.
Finally in December 2013 I saved up alot of money and went for it, I finally got myself a PS3 and it came with The Last of Us. I was super excited to get this game and was holding it off playing it until the perfect time. Months past on and I still have yet to touch the game. Then I got the PS4 back in April and starting doing more stuff on that console then my PS3. Then out of no where I heard rumors on the internet saying that Naughty Dog is going to re-release The Last of Us for the PS4 with updated graphics and visuals. At first I really didn't care for it, I owned the game on PS3 version of the game so I had no reason to purchase it again for the PS4. That was until a few days ago I was told from a viewer of mine that Gamestop/EB Games is doing a deal to trade in the PS3 version and get the PS4 version for only $25. That basically sold me to get it, and now I will be playing The Last of Us in its best version you can play it. *squeals*
So with that being said The Last of Us begins on Friday August 1st, 2014. It is the 4th game of the Summer Games' 14. It possibly could be a Playthrough of the Year Candidate as well, depending on how well it goes. But anyway if you missed the announcement trailer. You can view it down below.

*ATTENTION*
Hey everyone! Before I end this article update, I wanted to bring this up because it did bug me during the last game I played. But keep in mind this playthrough will be a 1st/Blind Playthrough as well keep that in mind. I know I have been doing many of them lately. But I feel as for you the viewer it does make it a little more exciting to see the casters reaction to something for the first time being surprised. I know for something like Perfect Dark doing a 1st/Blind Playthrough bit me hard in the end. A certain number of viewers / mods complained that I should of did a practice run first off cast. I would agree with this, but only for some games. I have done many games for the first time on stream and it usually goes very well and had no complaints when I did it before. I do apologize for the way that playthrough and other games were my mind just goes blank have gone, but please don't get angry because I am not doing it right or not playing the way you want me to. I love all my viewers, you all are pretty awesome people to chat to week after week, really does make me look forward to stream every weekend. However I do believe some people are taking it a little to seriously then it really needs to be. It's just a video game, and I'm sorry its called a 1st Playthrough for a reason.
It really makes me lose interest in trying to casting in general when people get angry for what i'm doing. Then I get insulated by my own chat after someone makes a smart aleck comment for missing something or not paying attention. Sorry for not being perfect at games like everybody else. I'm just here to stream for you guys and have a good time. But It has been happening a lot lately since The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess playthrough,I basically have felt insulted and hurt and I thought I should bring it up to attention. My priority is to be entertaining first before the game play, I will admit it is tough to do both at the same time. I really want to be better at doing both, and hopefully everyone can understand where I am coming from. Nobody is in trouble, I just needed to get this off my chest. My mind as a caster just hasn't been 100% lately, and by writing this I feel it has filled some holes.
Thank You.
